Board of Directors Application

Thank you for thinking about applying to be a candidate for our Board of Directors!

Before the election, we would like for BOD Candidates to spend 2-3 hours in the store to talk to our Membership about why they should get their vote to sit on the Board of Directors.

While the Board has oversight of the entire Co-op, they are not involved with the operations of the store, which is left to the GM. Instead the Board is more concerned with the long term direction of the Co-op as well as higher priced fixed assets.

At this point, our business is healthy and profitable! There are of course issues facing us but just about all of them revolve around funds that we do not have (yet):

1- After nearly having to close less than 6 years ago, we have the need to save up for our

future

2- Our location is at or approaching capacity. Big picture decisions need to be made between whether a change of location or a renovation to our current location is in order.

3- Refrigeration equipment around the store is showing its age and needs to be replaced.

4- Maintaining a competitive pay and adding benefits to DNF staff compensation.
